Children’s Director
Reports To: Executive Pastor
Status: Hourly, 10-15 hours per week (average)
Salary: DOE
Job Summary
To provide, direct, and/or support the needs of all ministries involving children in the early childhood and elementary age range.
Qualifications/Skill Set
- Mature Christian with exemplary character
- Ability to work with people, build teamwork and delegate responsibility.
- Agrees/Adheres to the Vision, Values and Statement of Faith of Crosswater Community Church
- A clear track record of effectiveness working in Children’s Ministry.
- Ability to work with people, build teamwork and delegate responsibility.
- Endorse and support the leadership and vision of Crosswater Community Church.
- Ability to teach
- Understanding of Children’s Ministry
- Organized
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversight and direction for Sunday morning children’s programming (75%)
- Provide management and training for leaders within the ministry (10%)
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for all ministry activities (5%)
- Conduct and maintain WA State background checks for all Children’s workers
- Create and evaluate the policies and procedures designed to protect the children of the church.
- Create and direct children’s outreach events (5%)
- Propose, track and manage Children’s budget (5%)
General Expectations
- Regularly spends time in prayer.
- Regularly spends time in study of God's Word.
- Regular and consistent tithing to Crosswater
- Is involved in personal discipleship, either small group or one-on-one.
- Stays current with ministry trends (i.e., listening to podcasts, reading books, periodicals and attending approved conferences).
- Attends all staff meetings/functions, as directed.
- Is at the church for all regular worship services and, as directed, special services.
- Maintains flexible working hours as determined by the needs of the ministry.
