Thanks for joining us today!

There is much discussion in our society about what Jesus said or didn't say as well as what He meant by what He said or didn't say.  So how do we know who is right?  We go straight to the source, HIS WORD! Journey with us in 2023 as we explore what Jesus said on a variety of topics and let's dig in together as we seek to understand, apply and live out all that "JESUS SAID".  Anger seems to be on the rise in our culture but even Jesus got angry at times.  So is it okay to be angry?  If so, when should we be angry and what should we do with our anger?  What was Jesus angry about and how does that compare with what we get angry about?  Everyone experiences anger at some point in their lives, but how we handle it can make all the difference.

In this series, “Everyone Who Is Angry”, we will explore the different forms of anger and how Jesus addressed them.  We'll examine Jesus' own anger, the roots of anger, and the different reasons why people become angry, including pride, fear, and the desire to defend God.  We'll also delve into the hidden anger and cynicism that can be lurking beneath the surface of our hearts. Join us as we learn from what Jesus said about, and/or in response to, anger and discover how we can manage our own anger in a healthy and constructive way.

This week we look at the differences between Jesus’ anger and our own as we kick off this new series.

Anger starts (is rooted) inside our hearts.  JESUS teaches that our anger can be just as bad as murder. In Matthew 5:21-26 JESUS calls HIS followers to work towards reconciliation with others not harboring anger towards them.  One of the best ways to deal with our anger is to actually seek first GOD's kingdom and HIS righteousness and forgive as HE forgave us.  Move towards JESUS by trusting HIM, following HIS example in living and loving and let HIM "be the judge of that."

Discussion Questions -

1 - What stands out to you about what JESUS taught in Matthew 5:21-26? What (if anything) needs to change in your life as a result of HIS teaching?
2 - Where are some inside issues coming out in your life?  How can you give those to JESUS?
3 - Why is reconciliation so important to JESUS?  How important is it to you?  Why would the enemy be opposed to reconciliation?
4 - How can our anger towards others hurt us too?
5 - What can we do to "seek first GOD's Kingdom and righteousness" with our anger?

Please pray for sensitivity to the HOLY SPIRIT and reconciliation personally, communally and globally with GOD and others.
